Job Summary

The Quality Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the quality control department. This role is responsible for managing a team of inspectors and technicians, maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), and ensuring that all production processes adhere to internal standards and external regulations (e.g., ISO, FDA, or USDA). The goal is to minimize defects, drive continuous improvement, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of Quality Inspectors and Lab Technicians.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs for staff.
  • Ensure the team follows safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
2. Quality Oversight & Compliance
  • Monitor production processes to ensure products meet specifications at every stage (Raw materials $ ightarrow$ In-process $ ightarrow$ Finished goods).
  • Maintain and update the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Manage the CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) process to resolve non-conformances.
  • Coordinate and lead internal audits; support external regulatory or customer audits.
3. Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor performance and identify trends.
  • Prepare daily/weekly quality reports and KPIs (e.g., scrap rates, defect density, first-pass yield) for senior management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including batch records, inspection logs, and certificates of analysis (CoA).
4. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for waste reduction and efficiency using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to troubleshoot root causes of recurring quality issues.
